Roy Booth Re-potting Demonstrations.
Repotting demonstration 13.2.2017
This dawn redwood (metasequoia glyptostroboides) had been in the same pot for several years and it took quite a struggle to get it out!
The roots were raked out and trimmed and the pot prepared. The tree was carefully positioned off centre, using a chopstick to tamp the compost down. It was sprayed with water to dampen the compost and a was stone added.
Repotting demonstration 9.3.2015
This tree was huge! The tree was taken out of the pot and the roots were combed and trimmed. Gravel and a layer of compost were added to the pot and the tree positioned on top. More compost was added, tamping it around the roots and levelling off the top.
Repotting demonstration February, 2013
Roy removed this trident maple (acer buergerianum) from its pot and combed out the roots, trimming them with scissors. He prepared the pot and then started to position the tree at an angle. He sprayed the roots to stop them drying out and filled up the pot with compost, tamping it down.
